On the night of 15–16 September 2025, heavy rains turned into a sudden cloudburst in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. Within minutes, peaceful villages became flood zones. Water, mud, and rocks rushed down, destroying homes, schools, bridges, and temples. Families ran to save their lives as nature’s fury hit hard.

This has become one of the worst cloudburst disasters in Uttarakhand in recent years.

Lives Lost, Families Broken

As per reports, 13 people lost their lives and 16 are missing. More than 100 houses collapsed in areas like Karligad and Maldevta. Over 500 people were stranded, and many had to be rescued. Families in Sahastradhara, Raipur, Paunda, and Kesarwala were evacuated.

People are in deep pain—parents searching for children, villagers losing cattle, and survivors left with nothing.

Worst-Hit Areas

The cloudburst caused damage in many parts of Dehradun:

  • Sahastradhara Road – shops, hotels, and homes damaged; mudslides blocked the way.
  • Maldevta – bridge washed away, cutting off villages.
  • Tapkeshwar Temple – the Tamsa river flooded inside; even the Shivling and Hanuman statue were submerged.
  • Raipur, Karligad, Kesarwala, Paunda – houses collapsed, farms destroyed, and colleges like Devbhoomi Institute were flooded (200+ students rescued).
  • Rispana & Bindal Rivers – overflowed and flooded colonies.
  • Highways – Rishikesh–Dehradun road blocked by landslides, leaving travelers stuck.

Why This Disaster Matters to All of Us

Dehradun is not just another city—it is the gateway to Uttarakhand, a land of Char Dham Yatra, sacred rivers, and the Himalayas. The people here welcome lakhs of pilgrims, tourists, and students every year. Today, they need our support.

How You Can Help

In this tough time, even a small donation can save lives. Relief teams and NGOs are working, but they need more help.

Your support can give:

  • Food to hungry children
  • Shelter for mothers and the elderly
  • Medicines for the injured
  • Hope for families who lost everything overnight

Donate for Dehradun flood victims today. Even ₹100 can feed a child or provide a blanket to a family.

A Call for Unity

This disaster reminds us how fragile life in the Himalayas is. Climate change and heavy rains are making such tragedies common. But together, our human spirit is stronger than any storm.

Let us unite and stand with Uttarakhand. Donate, volunteer, or spread awareness—every effort counts.

Stand with Dehradun. Support flood victims. Help rebuild lives.
Because when we come together, no disaster can defeat humanity.
